About Islamic Prayer Times

The five daily prayers (Salah) are one of the Five Pillars of Islam and are obligatory for every adult Muslim. Each prayer has a specific time window determined by the position of the sun. Our calculator uses the Aladhan API to provide highly accurate times based on your precise coordinates.

What are the five daily prayers and their times?
Fajr โ€” from dawn until just before sunrise. Dhuhr โ€” after the sun passes its zenith until Asr. Asr โ€” afternoon, ends at sunset. Maghrib โ€” just after sunset until night falls. Isha โ€” from nightfall until just before Fajr. Each prayer has a preferred early time and an acceptable window.
Which calculation method should I use?
For Pakistan, use University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi. For Saudi Arabia, use Umm al-Qura. For North America, use ISNA. For Europe, use Muslim World League. These methods differ slightly in how they calculate Fajr and Isha based on the sun's depression angle below the horizon.
What is the difference between Shafi and Hanafi Asr time?
The Hanafi school calculates Asr time when an object's shadow is twice its length (plus the noon shadow), while the Shafi, Maliki, and Hanbali schools use one times the shadow length. This makes the Hanafi Asr approximately 1โ€“2 hours later than the Shafi Asr.
Are these prayer times accurate?
Yes. We use the Aladhan API which is widely trusted and used by Islamic apps worldwide. Times are calculated astronomically based on your exact GPS coordinates or city location using the selected calculation method. They are accurate to within 1โ€“2 minutes.
